Uplift has been vital in improving my overall health. It took me two years too long to break down and find a pelvic floor therapist, but I’m thankful I did! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. As the mom of a busy toddler, I find the homework exercises simple and practical. For those of you anxious (as I was), I promise it’s far less awkward than you imagine!! You can do it! Make the appointment! You deserve healing!
I suffered two back injuries during my first year postpartum. I wasn’t able to pick up my child, let alone stand up straight. Pelvic floor therapy was the missing piece to what my body needed to make a full recovery back to the things I loved doing. Now pregnant with my second, UpLift is helping me build a better foundation for my final trimester, labor, and postpartum, which I will see her for before any signs of an injury. They are beyond knowledgeable in the field, give practical exercises that are functional and can be built off of each other, and their professionalism makes you want to tell everyone you know about your experience. They have truly changed my quality of life as a mom!
I saw UpLift PT during my second and third trimesters, and it made all the difference in making me confident in what was going on in my body during pregnancy. When I was pushing (with the epidural so I couldn’t feel anything below my waist), my OB was so impressed by how effective my pushing was because of all of the practice of deep core engagement and my PT teaching me how to push before that I DIDN’T TEAR!!!! After I delivered, he said, “You should write a book about how to push,” and I gave all the credit to pelvic floor PT. It was absolutely the best investment I made into my pregnancy.
I knew I needed help with my pelvic floor after having 2 babies and was peeing myself when I sneezed or coughed. Alongside that, I started to have lower back pain and SI joint pain more frequently than I did pre-baby. I knew I needed to go and see a pelvic floor PT. Every woman needs to see one. PERIOD. And if you’re going to go to one, go see UpLift PT. They answered all my questions, were VERY thorough with my exam, and knew exactly what was going on right away.

Our approach goes beyond strengthening your pelvic floor.

We like to see our new mamas as early as 3-4 weeks postpartum to check in, address any current symptoms, and begin reconnecting with your core. That being said, whether you are weeks, months, or many, many years postpartum, you can still regain control and strength of your pelvic floor.
YES! There are plenty of effective things we can still do during your session that do not involve internal pelvic floor work if you do not want internal work while on your period. However, our therapists are professional & comfortable with performing the internal PF work while menstruation is occurring if warranted.
While the internal exam/manual therapy can tell us a lot about your pelvic floor muscles, our therapists have plenty of knowledge, exercises, and other tools we can use to help if internal work is not a good option for you. We value informed consent first and foremost, and you, the patient, are always in control!
After a thorough explanation & getting your consent, the exam/treatment can be completed either vaginally or rectally. Our goals with either are to assess for muscle tension, coordination/function, and any asymmetries. This is not your typical GYNO exam! We don’t use a speculum or stirrups. It involves the use of 1 gloved, lubricated finger(s) that aims to be non-painful as we talk you through the entirety of what we are doing & more importantly, get your feedback on how it is feeling! Your perception of the feeling of pressure on the muscle(s) gives us information about where the issue may be coming from (nerves, muscle, other soft tissues, etc).
100% we can help you. We work with people of all activity levels and ages. We believe that everyone can benefit from movement.
Yes! We provide dry needling when appropriate for you. At no additional cost!

Yes! We are open as late as 7 pm on weekdays and from 8-3 on Saturdays.
NO! Texas is now a limited direct-access state for physical therapy. This means you no longer need a referral to get started with pelvic floor therapy! This saves you valuable time and money, as well as avoids unnecessary diagnostic testing and medications. The sooner you receive treatment for an injury or dysfunction, the faster you will get well! After we complete your initial evaluation, we will handle requesting a referral from your provider if you need one.
This will vary greatly from person to person, depending on what you’re being treated for, how long you’ve been dealing with the issue, what your specific goals are, as well as other factors that will play a role in your recovery. We ask that, at minimum, you plan for a comprehensive evaluation followed by at least a couple of follow-up sessions. However, for more complex issues or more challenging goals, you will likely benefit from more sessions with your therapist to ensure full resolution of symptoms for both the short and long term. Your therapist will be able to give you a more personalized idea at your evaluation.
Every appointment will be 100% one-on-one with your therapist. You can expect to spend approximately an hour at each of your appointments. Each session may include a combination of assessment, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education on how to supplement treatment while at home.
